AJ Raymundo (b. 2002) is an interdisciplinary artist and cultural worker from Taguig City, Philippines. His research-led practice examines the entanglements of materiality and the interdependence of human-nonhuman nature in an act of noticing how lifeforms resurge amidst precarity. With ethnography, speculation, and salvaging as his primary modi — and his background in anthropology and political ecology as his conceptual scaffolding — his inquiries translate into various formats spanning gatherings, installations, sculptures, and lens-based interventions.
He completed his BA in Interdisciplinary Studies, cum laude, at Ateneo de Manila University, and has received grants to conduct art and research projects in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan. He is the inaugural winner in conceptual art at the Ateneo College Awards in the Arts (2025), and has exhibited in various artist-run, alternative, and institutional spaces in Japan (Sado Island Galaxy Art Festival), Germany (Heizhaus), USA (RISD), and the Philippines (Areté, WHYNoT, 98B COLLABoratory).
